YouGov is a U.Okay.-based analysis and analytics agency working in Europe, North America, the Center East, and Asia-Pacific. A latest YouGov survey (PDF) explores public opinion on tariffs throughout Western Europe.
YouGov surveyed 9,455 adults in March 2025 within the U.Okay. (2,155), France (1,002), Germany (2,196), Denmark (999), Sweden (1,011), Spain (1,061), and Italy (1,031).
The survey consisted of 4 questions, beginning with, “If the U.S. have been to position tariffs on E.U. items imported to the U.S., would you help or oppose the E.U. responding by putting tariffs on American items imported to the E.U.?”
Most respondents again retaliatory tariffs, with help highest in Denmark at 79%.

Subsequent, the survey requested, “How a lot influence, if any, do you suppose that the U.S. putting tariffs on E.U. items imported to the U.S. would have on the E.U. financial system?” and “the [country’s] financial system?
Seventy-five p.c of German respondents consider tariffs could have “lots” or “important” influence on their nationwide financial system.
